KOCHI: A writ petition was filed before the Kerala High Court seeking to restrain the Kerala Private Medical College Management Association from proceeding with the admission of students to colleges under the association on the basis of the entrance test conducted by it for the year 2005. In its petition, the All India Save Education Committee also sought a directive to the association to fill the management quota from the rank-list prepared on the basis of the common entrance test. According to the petitioner, as per the ruling of the Supreme Court, the rights of selection could not be left to the discretion of any individual management. Managements had declared that they would have a say in the selection of candidates.
