Rajasthan to host meet of Information Ministers

JAIPUR: Rajasthan will host a national conference of the Information Ministers of States and Union Territories in Jaipur in September-October this year. The Secretaries of Information Departments of States will meet on the first day of the conference, while the Ministers will attend the event the next day.

The Parliamentary Secretary in charge of the Information and Public Relations Department, Bhawani Singh Rajawat, had proposed holding of the conference in Jaipur in a letter addressed to the Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting, S. Jaipal Reddy. Mr. Rajawat said here on Thursday that Mr. Reddy had given his consent to the offer in his reply.

Mr. Rajawat said that he had suggested in a conference of the Information Ministers in New Delhi on April 16 last that such meets be organised outside the capital to provide a broad perspective to the participants. He had recommended that the next conference be held in Jaipur.
