Cable network stops transmission
SRINAGAR:
The largest cable network in the city has stopped transmission following the killing of four of its employees by militants.
The decision to stop transmission was announced by Entertainment Network on Friday after Hilal Ahmad Sheikh, cable operator, was shot dead the previous day.
The Al-Badr on Saturday claimed responsibility for the killing and threatened to intensify attacks if the cable operators did not suspend operations immediately.
The cable operators have been directed earlier also to stop airing the programmes but they paid no heed," a caller claiming to be the spokesman of the outfit told a local news agency here. — PTI
