COIMBATORE: Mountaineering Adventure Sports Society will organise Survivor 2005, an event to test individual skills in rock climbing, rappelling, river crossing, survival, basic rescue, rope work, knots and teamwork. The event that began in July will go on till the end of August. From the entries received, the best 60 would be chosen after a two-day test. These would be divided into 20 camps of three survivors each. According to L. Fredrick, the organiser, these survivors would move on to the next stage comprising climbing, jummaring, obstacles and survival nights. From these, the best 20 would be chosen for the next stage. These 20 ultimate survivors would gear up in December for the final stage, a rigorous test from December 28 to January 2, 2006. Further, all the 20 would also visit Lampton Peak, near Perianaickenpalayam. The four best survivors in the final stage will receive `Survivor 2005' award.
