DHARMAPURI: Three salesmen of fair price shops in Dharmapuri and Krishnagiri districts were placed under suspension. A release from Joint Registrar of Cooperative Societies G. Loganathan stated that a team conducted surprise raids on Public Distribution System (PDS) outlets in Dharmapuri district. During the raid, essential commodities worth Rs. 3,564 were found to be deficient in 24 shops and billing irregularities worth Rs. 2,073 were found in another 10 shops. The salesman of Irumathur fair price shop was suspended. In Krishnagiri, the team carried out surprise raids on 45 PDS outlets in which essential commodities worth Rs.4,832 were found missing in 36 shops. The salesmen of PDS outlets 1 and 2 were suspended for not following working hour schedules.
