MANILA: President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo denied in a TV interview aired on Sunday that her allies were bribing lawmakers to kill an impeachment complaint against her, and urged the public to regard her as innocent unless proven guilty of any crime an appeal unthinkable just a few months ago. Ms. Arroyo again denied allegations that elections officials were bribed in her presence to ensure her victory in last year's closely fought elections. ``People bribing people in front of me? I deny that,'' Ms. Arroyo told ABS-CBN television. Asked about allegations that members of the 236-member House of Representatives were being bribed with cash and pork barrel allotments to kill an impeachment rap against her, Ms. Arroyo said she wasn't aware of such acts and added that all releases of funds to projects endorsed by lawmakers were documented to ensure transparency.
