ADILABAD: Some one hundred Maoists took to their heels as special party policemen foiled their plan to hold a plenum in the Mangi forest area of Adilabad district on Saturday. "Reports of movement of Maoist dalams such as Sirpur, Indervelli had been coming in during the last 10 days. However, these reports were meant to throw us off trail. The actual scenario in the shape of a plenum would have enfolded somewhere in the thick Mangi forest," said Superintendent of Police Kripanand Tripathi Ujela. Special parties of Grey Hounds were deployed in the area accordingly. Besides, vehicle checks were conducted on roads leading to the area in question. Policemen came across journalists headed for the area, apparently to "cover'' the plenum. This gave some credence to their information and the police launched full-scale combing operations.
