ALAPPUZHA: Water-level in a few areas in Kuttanand rose on Sunday following flooding of Achencoil and Manimala rivers, which empty into Kuttanad. The floodwater has entered the Alappuzha-Changanassery road at Mancombu and Mampuzhakkari stretches. But this has not affected the vehicular traffic. As many as 40 families have been evacuated from Pulinkunnu panchayath. They have been put up at Arupathilchira Anganvadi. District Collector K.R. Muraleedharan said the situation was stable and there was no reason to panic.
