MUMBAI: Eminent Bollywood personalities on Sunday decided to file a public interest litigation (PIL) petition in the Bombay High Court protesting the ``failure'' of the government machinery to protect lives and property in the recent monsoon fury and seek a direction to the State to have a disaster management apparatus in place to meet such an eventuality. The PIL would be filed under the banner of an NGO and the Indian Television Academy, filmmaker Ashok Pandit told PTI here. Bollywood personalities including Pandit, Mahesh Bhatt, Vinta Nanda, Raman Kumar, Soni Razdan and Anu Ranjan took part in a meeting called by `Jaag' an organisation of the NGO `Project Smita' named after the late actress Smita Patil. The film personalities have approached eminent lawyers Majid Memon and Mihir Desai to file the PIL and represent them in the court.
