AHMEDABAD: Two policemen including a sub-inspector have been arrested for the alleged rape of a minor Muslim girl in Bhuj, the district headquarter of Kutch, in Gujarat on Sunday. The police said sub-inspector B.N. Chavda and assistant sub-inspector Raghuvirsinh Jadeja had allegedly called the minor girl to the police station on Thursday on the pretext of taking her photographs and raped her in a secluded room adjacent to the Bhuj police station. The victim along with two other girls and a boy were arrested on Wednesday for alleged "indecent behaviour'' in the public and were released on bail. But the next day the girl was summoned by the two accused for taking her pictures when they allegedly committed the crime. The girl and her parents lodged a police compliant about the rape only on Saturday and the girl was sent for medical examination. While the medical report was still awaited, the policemen were arrested on "circumstantial evidences,'' the police said.
