Housewife commits suicide

A housewife, Shankeri (20) of Subash Nagar in Shahpur reportedly hanged herself from the ceiling at her residence on Saturday night. She was the wife of Prashanjeet, a worker in IDPL. It is learnt that Prashanjeet picked up a quarrel with her over a petty issue after which she took the drastic step. They are natives of Kolkata. They got married two months ago, the Jeedimetla police said.

Burglars decamp

with 25 tolas gold

Robbers broke into the house of an APTransco employee, M. Babu Rao at Vijay Nagar Colony and decamped with gold ornaments weighting 25 tolas on Saturday. The inmates were away when the miscreants broke open the locks of the house and gained entry. Mr. Rao lodged a complaint with the Humayun Nagar police.

Man dies in accident

An employee of a private firm, M. Yogender (35) died on the spot when the motorcycle he was driving was hit by an oncoming garbage van of MCH on Mudfort Road on Saturday. Yogender was a resident of Shivanagar in Trimulgherry. The Karkhana police registered a case.

Chain stolen

An unidentified person befriended a school student, D. Rajini near LIGH Colony in Kachiguda and walked away with her 12-gm gold chain on Saturday. Rajini was returning home from Andhra Yuvati Mandal School when the stranger befriended her saying that he was her father's friend. He engaged her in conversation and subsequently left with her chain. The girl's father, Hanumantha Rao lodged a complaint with the Kachiguda police.
