KOCHI: People living on either side of the Muvattupuzha River were shifted to safer places on Sunday as heavy rain resulted in water level rising in the river, inundating some areas. Some residents of Kochangadi and Puzhakkarakavu have been shifted to the Government Town Upper Primary School, Muvattupuzha. Water entered the Homeo hospital, Muvattupuzha, and some patients were relocated. The municipal stadium too was flooded with water. No major destruction of crops and property has been reported. Johney Neloore, MLA and the chairman of Muvattupuzha Municipality, M. A. Saheer visited the flooded regions.
