Urs transit camp
Inaugurating an Urs transit camp at Burari Grounds here, Mr. Joshi said: "The impact of Hazrat Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti's teachings is beyond time and region. In fact, his teachings are more relevant today. The country can be made stronger by following his ideas." Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit said every year on the occasion of the Urs the Government provides free camp facilities to all pilgrims. Delhi Development Minister Raj Kumar Chauhan informed that pilgrims would be provided milk, vegetables, computerised railway booking counters, drinking water, electricity, toilets and medicinal and ambulance facilities besides bus services to reach Ajmer Sharif.
Signature bridge
The bridge will have an eastern approach, a western approach, pedestrian sub-ways and footpath, cyclist path and a lower level road. There will also be a revolving restaurant on top of the signature bridge. Delhi Urban Development Minister A.K. Walia on Monday discussed the status of the Rs.464-crore project with the Principal Secretary of the Public Works Department, P.M. Singh, and other senior officials.
Swimming pool
Giving details of development works in the area, Vijender Gupta said a recreation centre for senior citizens would be constructed by the side of the swimming pool.
Vanmahotsava Week
About 1,000 saplings were planted during the week. They included jamun, sesam, amaltas and arjun. The plantation drive covered about 40 acres in and around the school.
