Kalasa-Banduri: all-party team to meet Manmohan

BANGALORE:
The Government has decided to take an all-party delegation to the Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh, on August 6 for finding a solution to the dispute with regard to the execution of the Kalasa-Banduri Nala diversion project aimed at meet the drinking water needs of Belgaum, Dharwad and Gadag districts.
This was announced by the Chief Minister, N. Dharam Singh, in the Legislative Assembly on Monday. The Leader of the Opposition, B.S. Yediyurappa, and Vatal Nagaraj ( Kannada Chaluvali) welcomed the Government's decision.
Mr. Yediyurappa said in view of the agitation demanding implementation of the project, the Government should take steps to start construction as early as possible.
Mr. Nagaraj said the Government had not held talks with the Goa Government on the issue.
