Draft electoral roll for Hosur released

Changes can be made by filling in Forms 6, 7 and 8

HOSUR: The draft electoral rolls for Hosur Assembly constituency (74) has been prepared and pasted at the office of the Sub-Collector, designated polling stations and post offices here for the convenience of the public, said Collector Mangat Ram Sharma on Monday.

The draft electoral rolls for voters residing within municipal limits has been pasted at the Hosur Municipality and for those residing in rural areas at the Tahsildar's office. The public could check their names and other particulars at the said places from August 1 to 16, between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Mr. Sharma said that the total number of voters in the Hosur Assembly constituency is 3,17,644, which includes 1,69,156 men and 1,48,488 women. With regard to claims for inclusion of a name in the rolls or any objection to the inclusion of a name or any other particulars in any entry, it should be lodged on or before August 16. Any changes in the list could be made by duly filling in Forms 6, 7 and 8. Similarly, any changes in the entry of names from one part to another could be made by filling in Form 8A.

The public after filling the forms should send them to the offices of Tahsildar, Village Administrative Officer, Municipality and designated polling stations or before August 16. The details of the draft rolls would be read out to the public in special gram sabha meetings to held on August 6 at 11 a.m. in village panchayats, special village panchyats and Hosur municipality.

The Collector appealed to the public to take part in the special gram sabha meetings and check whether their names have appeared in the list.
