Ramana, Bhavana triumph

HYDERABAD: S.S.V. Ramana and K. Bhavana won the cadet boys' and girls' singles titles respectively in the St. Paul's annual State-ranking table tennis tournament at St. Paul's High School here on Sunday.

Ramana defeated J. Shravan 11-6, 10-12, 11-6, 11-5 in the boys' final while Bhavana put it across K. Harshitha 11-5, 9-11, 10-12, 11-8, 11-8 in the girls' final.

The results: finals: Men: G. Jitender bt Somnath Ghosh 11-9, 11-3, 11-7, 11-7; semifinals: G. Jitender bt Deepesh Singh 11-4, 11-8, 11-5, 11-4; Somnath Ghosh bt Krishna Kiriti 11-7, 11-8, 8-11, 11-9, 11-7.
