ISLAMABAD: Pakistan's Leader of Opposition, Maulana Fazlur Rehman is being "deported" to his country from Dubai. He was on his way from Libya to Saudi Arabia. It is not clear on what grounds he has been denied entry into Dubai and asked to return to Pakistan. Mr. Rehman told local television channels over phone from Dubai that he had a valid visa to enter Dubai. He refused to discuss further details on the plea that he would speak on his return to Pakistan. Pakistan Information and Broadcasting Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, quoting Pakistan mission officials in Dubai, said that Mr. Rehman was on the "black list" of Dubai authorities. Mr. Rehman, head of his own Jamaat-e-Ulema Islami faction, is known as the "father of Taliban" as a number of senior leaders of the Taliban were students of the religious institution run by his organisation.
