BANGALORE: Siemens Communications clinched the team title with a 3-2 verdict against Symphony and with it the C.V. Gideon Memorial trophy with 45 points for the overall team championship in the Ventures-conducted inter-Corporate table tennis tournament at the KGS Club hall here. And the star turn was done by Saikat Mitra who won the men's singles and both his singles in the team event. Saikat beat Karan (i2 Technologies) to win the men's singles title 11-8, 10-12, 11-7, 10-12, 11-7, 5-11, 12-10. Alka stole a double. The Wipro lady first teamed up with Hema and put it across Lalitha and Susan (HP Global) for the women's doubles title and then came back to partner Tarun for the mixed doubles crown as well.
Oracle downed Infosys 3-1 for the third place while the plate Cup was won by IBM. Women's doubles: Alka/Hema (Wipro) bt Lalitha/Susan (HP Global) 7-11, 8-11, 11-7, 11-8, 11-7. Mixed doubles: Tarun/Alka (Wipro) bt Saikat /Kavitha (Siemens-SPCNL) 11-13, 11-7, 11-9, 13-11.
