MYSORE: The Mysore City Police has decided to take stringent action against ragging in educational institutions in the city. The City Police Commissioner, Pravin Sood, who convened a meeting of college principals recently, sent a clear message that the police will act tough against students who indulge in ragging. Complaints against ragging at engineering, medical and pre-university colleges will be treated seriously and stringent action will be taken against the culprits, Mr. Sood warned. The meeting also discussed measures to inculcate overall discipline among students, including traffic discipline. Students constitute a majority of traffic violators, and the police is trying to inculcate lane discipline among students, Mr. Sood said.
