Trains cancelled

CHENNAI: The following trains are cancelled on Tuesday due to heavy rains in Mumbai: Train 2164/2163 Chennai Central - Mumbai Dadar - Chennai Central Expresses; Train 6010/ 6009 Chennai Central - Mumbai CST - Chennai Central Mails. Trains 6012/6011 Chennai Central - Mumbai CST - Chennai Central Expresses will run to and from Pune only till August 6.

Learning Resource Centre

The Vice-chancellor of Tamil Nadu Open University, M.S. Palanichamy inaugurated the university's Learning Resource Centre at SITECH, Nungambakkam High Road. Medical camp

Udhavam Ullangal, a registered public charitable trust, recently conducted a medical camp at Arpakkam on the way to Uttiramerur. A team of three doctors examined about 400 patients at Government Higher Secondary School. Ford Business Services supported the camp by sending their volunteers and medicines.

Students' contest

The Guru Shree Shantivijai Jain College for Women Students' Council organised Aakruthi, an inter-year competition. The competitions included "Adaptune" where the participants had to dance to music with or without props.

Certificate courses

The commerce department of Guru Nanak College is conducting three certificate courses of the University of Madras in insurance, banking and e-commerce as value addition to under-graduate courses. About 130 students have enrolled this year. The manager of Corporation Bank, Velachery, Siva Shanmugham inaugurated the classes for this academic year.

IT aptitude workshop

Yoga classes
