TAMBARAM: The State Government has maintained complete transparency in the recent appointment of doctors and pharmacists, Health Minister N. Thalavai Sundaram said. Speaking at the Doctor's Day meeting organised by the Tambaram unit of the Indian Medical Association on Sunday, he said the Government had appointed more than 2,500 doctors in the Primary Health Centres, and 570 pharmacists were also appointed. The appointments were based on the seniority of the applicants registered at the District Employment Exchanges. There was complete transparency and there was no political influence, Mr. Sundaram said.
