Letters to the Editor
The Irish Republican Army seems to have realised that guns will not help in achieving the goal of a united Ireland. Its decision to end 30 years of armed struggle is indeed meaningful and worthy. It is also a lesson to Maoists to stop killing innocent citizens in the name of armed struggle. In fact, the armed struggle is of little benefit to the poor and downtrodden who, paradoxically, suffer the most when violence is unleashed by the Maoists be it in Bihar or Andhra Pradesh.
