THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: : Thanks to a week-long spell of heavy rain triggered by two offshore troughs, the State received 11 per cent excess rainfall in July, with 84.5 cm of rain being received as against a normal of 75.8 cm, according to the Met Centre authorities here. The combined rainfall received during June and July is also in excess by five per cent, with 150.3 cm being received as against a normal of 143.6 cm. In July, all the districts received excess rainfall except Kozhikode and Kasaragod. Idukki got more than double the expected rain, with 193.8 cm being received as against a normal of 88.2 cm - an excess of 120 per cent.
