THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Samskara Sahithi, cultural wing of the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC), is all set to revive the traditional art forms of the State. As a first step, a meeting of artistes and litterateurs was held at the KPCC headquarters here on Wednesday. The meeting was organised at the behest of Palode Ravi, chairman of the cultural wing of the partyThe main aim of the cultural wing is to make posterity aware of the artistic and cultural traditions of the country.KPCC president Ramesh Chennithala, in his inaugural address, described the art forms as the strength of Indian culture and tradition. The committee should provide opportunities for youngsters to show their talent, he said. Minister for Culture A.P. Anil Kumar, Tourism Minister K.C. Venugopal, Sanskrit University Vice-Chancellor K.S. Radhakrishnan, Kerala State Film Development Corporation chairman P.V. Gangadharan, `Soorya' Krishnamoorthy, M.G. Radhakrishnan, George Onakkoor, K.P. Udayabhanu, Rajivnath, Sahitya Akademi secretary P.V. Krishnan Nair, and Encyclopaedia director M.R. Thampan were among those who attended the meeting. Sessions on poetry, short story, music, cinema and environment will be conducted in all villages. The State conference will be held here on September 5.
