According to railway officials, the victims were found in an unconscious state by porters at Chennai the Central railway station in a general compartment. They were later admitted to the Government General Hospital here.
When the victims regained consciousness, they said they belonged to Tirupattur and were returning to their native place from Mysore after their attempts to get employment there failed.
