ALAPPUZHA: The police are understood to have made vital progress in unravelling the mystery behind the `fake' accident at Kanichukulamgara near here where four persons, including Everest Chit Fund managing director T.G. Ramesh, were killed recently. The special investigation team led by Alappuzha Deputy Superintendent of Police (Crime Detachment) P.A. Johnson is learnt to have located the hideout of N.S. Sajith and K.M. Binish, managing directors of the Himalaya group of companies, who are suspected to be behind the alleged murder. Sajith and Binish had not appeared in public ever since the police started the investigation. The police have also collected vital evidence on the real culprits behind the fake accident, sources said. The team has extended the investigation to Tamil Nadu, where the Himalaya group has business stakes. The sources said the police had taken into custody R. Saju alias `Mrigam' Saju who is suspected to have hired the killers for murdering Ramesh and implemented the plan. However, Inspector-General of Police T.P. Senkumar who is overseeing the investigation did not confirm it. But he said the investigation team had made progress.
