BANGALORE:
A Division Bench of the High Court comprising the Chief Justice, Nauvdip Kumar Sodhi, and Justice S. Abdul Nazeer quashed the appointment of two persons as Readers in the University of Mysore and allowed an appeal by two others who had not been selected.
The appellants said that the university had invited applications to two posts of Reader in Sericulture.
Since they had obtained doctorate in sericulture, they had applied for the post.
They later learnt that one post had been given to a person who had obtained a doctorate in botany while another person who was selected had obtained a doctorate in zoology.
Taking exception to the appointments, the Bench levied costs of Rs. 10,000 on the university.
