BANGALORE: The admission round seat selection for eligible diploma holders, seeking admission to second year or third semester engineering and technology courses in day engineering colleges under lateral entry scheme, will begin on Thursday. The schedule will be as follows: August 4: Ranks 1 to 400 (9 a.m. to 11 a.m.); 401 to 800 (11.15 a.m. to 1.15 p.m.); 801 to 1,100 (2 p.m. to 4 p.m.); 1,101 to 1,300 (4.15 p.m. to 6.15 p.m.). August 5: Ranks 1,301 to 1,700; 1,701 to 2,100; 2,101 to 2,300; and 2,301 to 2,500. August 6: Ranks 2,501 to 2,900; 2,901 to 3,300; 3,301 to 3,700; and 3,701 to 4,000 and August 8: 4,001 to 4,400; 4,401 to 4,800; 4,801 to last rank. In all, 4,334 engineering seats (2,470 seats under concessional fee and 1,864 under higher fees) will be offered for selection to all eligible rank holders. The admission round seat selection for diploma holders seeking admission to first year / first semester architecture course under lateral entry scheme, will be held at 3 p.m. on August 10. The admission round seat selection for diploma holders seeking admission in evening engineering colleges under the lateral entry scheme will be held on August 8 for Bangalore colleges and on August 10 for Mysore colleges. The schedule is as follows for Bangalore colleges: August 9: Rank 1 to 400; 401 to 800; 801 to 1,200; and 1,201 to last rank (AS 2). For Mysore Colleges: August 10: Rank 1 to 200 and 201 to last rank (FS 2). The diploma holders, who claim eligibility under Physically Disabled Special Category seats, should report at the Common Entrance Test (CET) cell office at 8 a.m. on August 9 for selection of seven seats reserved for them in evening engineering colleges, a CET release said. The PGCET counselling for MCA admissions will be held for ranks 1,401 till the last rank on Thursday. The vacancy position under various categories is as follows: GM-461; SC-241; ST-58; Category 1-69; 2A-201; 2B-64; 3A-58; 3B-56; PH-60; EX-S-4; Total-1,272 seats; Surrendered Management Seats-375. The revised 2nd round counselling for MCA seats is as follows: August 5 (Only for SC/ST/OBCs): Rank 1 to 1,000 (9 a.m. to 1 p.m.); 1,001 to last rank (1 p.m. to 4 p.m.). August 6 (For All): 1 to 1,000 (9 a.m. to 1 p.m.); 1,001 to last rank (1 p.m. to 4 p.m.).
