Electoral rolls available in CD format

COIMBATORE: Collector S. Kosalaraman has announced that electoral rolls will be available as hard copy and on a CD as well.

Summary revision

Under rule 33 of the Electoral Roll Registration Rules of 1960, individual voters were entitled for a copy of the relevant portion of the electoral roll after paying the prescribed fee, a release said.

Electoral rolls, after the summary revision, were brought out in respect of 15 Assembly constituencies in the district.

The rolls in CD format had already been brought out in respect of Mettuppalayam, Avanashi, Tirupur, Pongalur, Palladam, Kinathukkadavu, Pollachi, Valparai, Udumalpet and Dharapuram (in Erode district) Constituencies.

Now, five more Assembly constituencies with areas under Corporation limits, namely Coimbatore East, Coimbatore West, Perur, Singnallur and Thondamuthur had also been brought out.

These CDs could be made use of by individuals, private firms, merchants and students for any market research or study.

Hitherto, the CDs were priced at Rs. 500 and now it had been brought down to Rs. 100.

The first CD contained electoral rolls of ten constituencies and the second CD, that of five constituencies.

Besides this, individuals who wanted to have photocopies of relevant portion of the electoral rolls (in which their names figured) could obtain it by remitting Rs. 2.

Copies could be had from respective Revenue Divisional Offices in Coimbatore, Pollachi and Tirupur and at the Corporation office in Coimbatore.
