Anil Khanna elected ATF chief

NEW DELHI: The Secretary-General of the All India Tennis Association (AITA), Anil Khanna, was elected president of the Asian Tennis Federation (ATF) at the annual general meeting held recently in Bangkok.

Mr. Khanna who was earlier Secretary-General of ATF, beat Sheikh Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah of Kuwait 23-16. He is also member of the Board of International Tennis Federation (ITF).

The following were elected to the ATF Board of Directors for a two-year period:

President: Anil Khanna (India); Vice-presidents: Rustam Shabdurakhmonov (Uzb), Suwat Liptapanlop (Tha), Syed Dilawar Abbas (Pak), Zhang Xiao-Ning (Chn) and Majid Al Mandhary (Oma); Secretary-General: Suresh Subramaniam (Sri); Treasurer: Dong Kil Cho (Kor); Members: Chau-Fan Su (Tpe), Koji Watanabe (Jpn) and Md. Sanaul Hoque (Ban). — Special Correspondent
