NEW DELHI: The Shiv Sena Parliamentary Party on Thursday asked Union Finance Minister P. Chidambaram to impress upon insurance companies to pay 50 per cent of the claim to flood victims in Maharashtra. In a letter, Parliamentary Party leader Anant Geete said quick settlement of insurance claims on priority basis would help the process of rehabilitation. ``There has been vast devastation and loss of life and property in Konkan, Mumbai, Thane, Marathwada and Western Maharashtra. The entire infrastructure including power supply, communication facilities, transport system and aviation sector have been hit by the floods. It may take long to rehabilitate people who have been uprooted,'' the letter said.
