Letters to the Editor
This refers to the report "MPs resent judicial trespass" (Aug. 4). Neither the legislature nor the judiciary has unlimited powers. The judiciary should exercise its powers with self-restraint to prevent the parliamentary system from breaking down.
V.K. Sathyavan Nair,
If they are serious, the MPs should stand united and oppose any attempt by the judiciary to interfere in the affairs of the legislature. But the same MPs, at times, prompt some private individuals to approach the court with a public interest litigation plea against some of their colleagues. It is they who give courts an opportunity to chastise some among them.
P.U. Krishnan,
The people of the country are floundering amidst the deluge of immorality that has hit the political establishment. Let us be happy that at least the judiciary is doing what it can to limit the fallout of this unfortunate situation.
B. Sivakumar,
