Letters to the Editor
The editorial "Can examinations be stress free?" (Aug. 3) debates a long-standing issue. Before evaluation, students should be acclimatised to questions that test their knowledge, comprehension, application, and analytical skills. This can be done in classroom situations using a field-tested programme.
The editorial leaves an important aspect untouched. There is total lack of emphasis at the national level on the development of polytechnics. One only needs to look at the number of polytechnics in the U.K. and their popularity among the school leavers to be convinced of the utility of diplomas in various fields.
