VILLUPURAM: Two women labourers Chinnakolandai (40) of Keezhsivari and Kalyani of Kovadi were killed when gelatine sticks exploded in a stone quarry at Brhamadesam near here on Thursday. One version had it that the women were caught unawares when the explosives were ignited in the absence of a proper warning. Another report said that the explosives believed to be inactive suddenly exploded. Soon after the incident the co-workers obstructed traffic on the Marakkanam-Tindivanam road for some time.
