HYDERABAD: The Chief Minister, Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, has advised the Joint Action Committee of employees, teachers and workers to sort out issues pertaining to the Pay Revision Commission with the committee of senior IAS officers. Assuring them that the Government was prepared to render justice, he told the JAC leaders that they could approach him if they were not satisfied after meeting the committee.
Constraints
Explaining budgetary constraints, he referred to the recently issued ordinance to control revenue deficit and pointed out that the Government would lose Rs. 1, 600 crores annually over the next five years if the deficit was not controlled. The JAC members submitted a memorandum on Thursday bringing to his notice certain anomalies in the PRC. They wanted revision of master scale and sanction of 30 per cent fitment benefit, among others. The Chief Minister asked the leaders to come up with suggestions to improve State revenues. Dr. Reddy appealed to the JAC members not to take to the streets for redressal of their grievances. He likened the IAS officers to elder members of a family and the NGOs and others to younger members. He said the he was willing to meet the JAC representatives to know their problems. The JAC chairman, B.V. Subba Rao, the co-chairmen, B. Mohan Reddy and P. Subba Reddy and secretary general, D. Sudhakar, met Dr.Reddy.
