HYDERABAD: The President, A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, arrived here on Thursday night by a special IAF aircraft from New Delhi on a day's visit to the State capital. He was received at the airport by the Governor, Sushil Kumar Shinde, the Chief Minister, Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, and a host of other dignitaries. The President will participate in at least five programmes on Friday. He will interact with students of the Jubilee Hills Public School at 9 a.m., launch a Centre of Excellence at the Centre for DNA Fingerprinting and Diagnostics (CDFD) at 10.30 a.m. before participating in a programme at the Defence Metallurgical Research Laboratories (DMRL) at 12.10 p.m. Later in the day, the President will address the convocation of the Maulana Azad Urdu University at the Shilpa Kala Vedika inthe city. From there, he will proceed to the RBVRR Women's College at Narayanguda to take part in its golden jubilee celebrations, before taking off for New Delhi at 7.55 p.m.
Traffic diversions
Traffic will be stopped or diverted at some places in the city on Friday from 2 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. in connection with the visit of the President, A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, to the RBVRR College for Women at Narayanaguda. Details of the centres: Old Post Office near Barkatpura junction, Raghavendra Swamy Mutt `Y' junction, Kachiguda crossroads, Narayanaguda crossroads, YMCA Narayanaguda, Crown Cafe, Basheerbagh junction, BJR statue, Old MLA Quarters, Cemetery Narayanaguda, Himayathnagar `Y' junction and Eden Guard junction.
