GUNTUR: Six suspected Maoists, including a woman who was involved in the attack on the Chilakaluripet police station, surrendered before the Superintendent of Police V.C. Sajjanar, on Thursday. Speaking to reporters here on Thursday, the SP said that Nakka Ramana alias Rajitha, 17, hailing from Remidicherla village in Bollapalli mandal, was directly involved in the Chilakaluripet attack. She was drawn into Maoist movement after she faced some problems with her husband Srinivas, who she married when she was just 14. She also worked as bodyguard for the Chandravanka dalam commander, Chandana, said the SP. Rajitha said she decided to surrender after she realised the `futility' of an armed struggle. The other surrendered Maoists include: Gunda Purnachandra Rao, Kumba Anjeneyulu alias Anji, and Kumba Musalaiah, all hailing from Bhodhanam village in Bellamkonda mandal. The three were involved in the Emmajiguda bus blast case, among others, the SP said. Two persons from Manne Sultanvaripalem village in Bellamkonda mandal, Eramala Sambaiah and Kampa Venkateshwarlu, also surrendered.
