One more lion dies in Gir forests
AHMEDABAD:
Forest Department officials have found the carcass of a 10-year-old lion in the Eastern Division of the Gir Forests.
Deputy Conservator of Forests (Junagadh Range, East) S. P. Sisodiya said on Wednesday that the carcass was recovered from near Patla village of Dhari taluka in Junagadh District.
Last week, the carcasses of a three-month-old lioness cub and two leopards were found by the forest officials from the same area. Post-mortem examination on the carcass could not be conducted as it was decomposed.
Preliminary investigations suggested the lion might have died due to some infection. UNI
