Rise in tele-density

NEW DELHI: The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology said on Friday that over 49 lakh telephones had been added during April-June of the current year, which is higher by four lakh phones than the achievement during the corresponding period of last year. With this addition, tele-density has increased from 7.49 per cent in June 2004 to 9.37 per cent.
