Talent search exam fee

The Hyderabad district Educational Officer S. Jagannath Reddy has informed that students studying 10th class in any recognised schools, including ICSE and CBSE syllabus and willing to appear for National Talent Search Examination, should remit the fee of Rs. 100 before August 31 to the headmasters concerned. The State-level National Talent Search Examination (preliminary) will be conducted on November 27 (Sunday). The examination consists of two parts and will have the subjects -- (part I) general mental ability test for 100 marks and (part II) scholastic aptitude test for 100 marks, including physics, chemistry, maths, biology, history, geography and civics. The headmasters should remit the fee in the form of demand draft in favour of the Secretary to the Commissioner for Government Exams, Andhra Pradesh, Hyderabad either in State Bank of Hyderabad or State Bank of India. The filled-in applications along with the DD are to be sent before September 5, according to a press release. - Staff Reporter

`Begging' for tribals

The Andhra Pradesh Tribals Association took up begging to mobilise funds for the viral fever-hit tribals in the agency areas. The association general secretary Sriram Naik led the programme at RTC Crossroads and its environs, and claimed good response from the public. Mr. Naik criticised the Government for not coming to the aid of tribals suffering for the past one month. Any delay in taking emergency measures would only aggravate the situation as the fevers are spreading to other areas rapidly, a press release said. - Staff Reporter

Dak Adalat

The 59th Dak Adalat to hear public complaints and grievances relating to postal services will be held by the Principal Chief Postmaster General at 11 a.m in the office of the Postmaster General, Visakhapatnam on September 15. The complaints and grievances can be sent to C.S.P. Kumar, Assistant Postmaster General, Office of the Principal Chief Postmaster General, AP Circle, Hyderabad on or before August 22. The letters/envelopes should be superscribed with the words `59th Dak Adalat', according to a press release. - Staff Reporter

Walk-in interview

A walk-in interview will be held on August 10 for the selection of candidates desiring to undergo one-year certificate course in Blood Banking Technology and two-year diploma course in Medical Lab Technology run by the Indian Red Cross Society. The candidates should be SSC pass or degree holders with science stream and should get their original certificates to the interview. - Staff Reporter

Admissions are in progress for part-time courses in music at the College of Fine Arts and Media Education, Andhra Mahila Sabha. The courses are open for women with a minimum qualification of 10th class pass. There is no age limit. SBH donation to trust

The State Bank of Hyderabad (SBH) has donated Rs. 1.26 lakhs for provision of 55 steel cots, almirahs, mattresses and pillows to the inmates of M/s Shanti Sai Seva and Prachar Samaj Charitable Trust, Deshmukhi village, Nalgonda district. The trust caters to the needs of poor persons of all communities and is running an old age home with 52 inmates, according to a press release here on Friday. - Special Correspondent
