BHUBANESWAR: Leaders of the Ganjam district committee of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) on Friday launched hunger strike outside the MKCG Medical College Hospital in Berhampur demanding withdrawal of registration fee for patients and the pay clinic system. The CPI(M) Ganjam unit is strongly opposing the introduction of registration fee of Rs. 5 and Rs. 10 for out and in-patients respectively. The hunger strike will continue till the Government announces withdrawal of registration fee and pay clinic system, according to Ali Kishore Patnaik, State Secretariat Member of the party.
