Plea to nominate educationists to Syndicate

BANGALORE: Seven members of the Bangalore University's Syndicate have appealed to the Government to nominate only eminent educationists to the Syndicate according to the Karnataka State Universities Act, 2001.

In a statement issued here on Saturday, Devaki Jain, A. Ajit Prasad, K. Ashwathappa, S. Ravichandra Reddy, K. Narahari, Kiran Reddy and B.R. Srinivas, members, expressed concern over the controversy on government nominations to the Syndicate.

They said that they are disturbed that the Government has not considered nominating eminent persons recommended by the Vice-Chancellor.
