NAGERCOIL: A cycle rally from Kanyakumari to Chennai will be taken out by Tamil Nadu Government Employees Union, seeking reinstatement of 10,000 terminated road workers, according to its president, Balasubramaniam. Speaking to presspersons here on Saturday, he said the rally would be organised during the second week of September, followed by a protest fast in Chennai on behalf of Tamil Nadu Special Panchayats Employees, Municipality Field Employees Union and Muster Roll Employees Union, seeking regularisation of services of 15,000 temporary workers in various departments. The Centre should take action against those police officials, who lathicharged employees of Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Limited at Manesar in Gurgaon district, when they took out a procession for reinstatement of suspended workers, said Mr. Balasubrasmaniam.
