College plans seminar on `outreach activities'

MANGALORE: The Crosslands College Brahmavar in Udupi district will hold a three-day national conference on "College to community emerging trends in extensions and outreach activities in colleges" from August 11.

The conference has been sponsored by the University Grants Commission and will be inaugurated by former Director of the Chitra Thirunal Institute Thiruvananthapuram and founder Vice-Chancellor of the Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) M.S. Valiathan.

According to a press release from the college here, the conference will have seven technical sessions by Resource persons. Ashok Pai, Director, Manasa, Shimoga; Mathew C. Ninan, Principal, Little Rock Indian School, Brahmavar; Elizabeth Daniel, Clinical psychologist, Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore; Padmini Pai, Dean Sri Devi Education Trust Colleges, Mangalore; Rajan Varghese, Director, MCMT, Kerala; Elizabeth Thomas, former Principal, Bishop Cotton Women's College, Bangalore; and Ganesh Somayaji, Goa University, are the distinguished resource persons.
