The directives may sound commonplace, oft-repeated. But a 24-point list of `dos' and `don'ts' drawn up by the police to reduce burglary and thefts would be worth observing the Inspector General of Police (North Range) M. N. Krishnamurthy has to say. Fix a master electric switch in the bedroom to enable inmates to search premises easily. Avoid display of gold ornaments. Inform the nearest police station or control room (telephone 100), when you leave home for long. So goes the list.
