SANGAREDDY: Telangana Rastra Samithi would celebrate Telangana Liberation Day on a grand scale, if the Government failed to do so, said the Union Minister, A. Narendra, told reporters on Friday. The TRS leader, who is on a day's tour to Medak district, said only the State Government had not recognised the importance of the day while the erstwhile Nizam- ruled States like Karnataka and Maharashtra officially celebrate the occasion. "TRS will celebrate that day at a public meeting in the Nizam college grounds," Narendra said. He said the TRS would observe Andhra Pradesh formation day as a `black day' and a day of betrayal.
`Good for Congress'
Commenting on the issue of alliance with Congress in the municipal elections, Narendra said that since the Congress was facing anti-incumbency factor, they would benefit by entering into understanding with TRS in Telangana. He added that the pact would be at the local level. On the issue of BC census, Narendra cautioned Congress that a backlash by the three prominent BC castes, Munnuru, Mudiraj and Padmasali would prove damaging for the Congress. While accepting that the UPA sub-committee report is getting delayed, Narendra said that TRS understood the reasons for delay and expected that a report would be submitted by the Defence Minister in the monsoon session. But TRS cannot wait forever, Narendra said.
