Bangalore: Pakistan speedster Mohammed Sami and Indian wicket-keeper M.S. Dhoni have confirmed their participation in the `Unibic 20/20 Bradman Cup' tournament which will be held at the Chinnaswamy Stadium here from August 19 to 21. The tournament will also feature Adam Hollioake, Kamran Akmal, Shoaib Malik, Mahela Jayawardene, R. Kaluwitharana, Russel Arnold and F. Maharoof. Besides Dhoni, former speedster Javagal Srinath and Ajit Agarkar will be the other India players who will take part. The tournament will have six teams Bradman World XI, New South Wales, KSCA XI, Bengal, Chemplast and Air-India. The matches will be played both during the day and under floodlights.
KSCA-MRF Trophy
The domestic season opener KSCA All-India invitation MRF Trophy tournament will commence here on Friday. Teams ranging from host and defending champions KSCA to Australia's Pura Cup champion New South Wales will compete in the tournament that will feature 12 sides split into four zones. The early league fixtures and the semifinals will consist of two-day matches while the final will be spread over three days. The tournament will conclude on August 30. "This is the tenth edition of the tournament and being the season-opener, the matches will be crucial for the players," KSCA secretary Brijesh Patel said here during the launch press conference on Wednesday night. The tournament will have a five-day break from August 18 to 22 as the Bradman Cup 20-20 tournament is scheduled from August 19 to 21. The New South Wales team is also scheduled to participate in the 20-20 tournament. New South Wales will arrive here on Friday. The teams: A Zone: KSCA, IOC and CAB; B Zone: Baroda CA, Indian Airlines and Hyderabad. C Zone: ONGC, Chemplast and NCA. D Zone: New South Wales, Air India and Canara Bank.
