`Intensify drive against child labour'

MADIKERI: Deputy Commissioner Subodh Yadav has asked the Labour Department officials here to constitute teams to intensify the drive against child labour to make Kodagu a child labour-free district.

He was chairing a meeting to discuss strategies to abolish child labour, an official press release issued here said. Officers from 17 Government departments, apart from representatives of voluntary organisations, should be members of the teams.

He instructed the officials to take up the drive in Madikeri, Virajpet, Somwarpet and Kushalnagar towns simultaneously, the release said.
