Left parties reach pact on civic polls

Negotiations with Congress on sharing seats likely

CUDDAPAH: The CPI and CPI (M) reached an understanding for seat adjustments in the ensuing municipal elections, the party leaders said here on Thursday.

The two parties decided to contest 19 corporator seats in Cuddapah Municipal Corporation and would finalise the number of wards to contest in five other municipalities in the district in three days, the CPI district Secretary, G. Obulesu, and CPI (M) district Secretary, B. Narayana Reddy, told a joint press conference.

They would negotiate with Congress upon getting approval of their respective State units.
