DISC FORMAT: Actor Madhavan releasing DVD and VCD versions of director Mouli's tele-plays. The first copy was received by K.S. Sudhakar of Swathi Soft Solutions.
CHENNAI: The success of the `Flight 172,' a hilarious telefilm based on writer-director Mouli's stage play, in DVD and VCD formats, has motivated Swathi Soft Solutions to release the digital disc versions of three more of his telefilms. Actor Madhavan who released the VCD and DVD, said he always wanted to do a film with Mouli. "My dream came true with "Nala Damayanthi." "Doing comedy is far more challenging than playing an action or romantic hero role. I now want Mouli to do me a script where I can prove my comedy talent more." Mouli said the creative spark for all the three telefilms was from real incidents that were reported in newspapers. "I have decided to donate the sale proceeds of the DVD and VCDs for a charitable cause. Laughter not only gets rid of illness but also provides relief to hapless patients", he said. The three telefilms that are to be released in digital disc versions are `Bumper Parisu' (About a person who believes more in luck than effort), `Amavasai IAS' (is about the transformation of an arrogant, educated man from the city by the native wisdom of a rustic, unlettered farmhand) and `Sundaram and Sons' (is a critique on the prevailing permissive trends in society that allow free intermingling of betrothed couple).
